Heritage records: Maitai Valley water supply scheme

Sixty-five percent of Nelson City's water was provided when the Maitai Valley water supply scheme opened in 1987, incorporating state of the art engineering knowledge at the time. Learn how the dam's proximity to the city meant safety considerations were paramount – and how designers were still able to allow for recreational use of the area.
